Josh Gordon is not new to the NFL suspension game. Earlier this week, Gordon was reported testing positive for his substance of abuse test.
Josh Gordon is a wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns. In a statement released by the general manger, “As we have conveyed, we are disappointed to once again be at this point with Josh.” Their sentiments are substantiated.
This marks Gordon’s third suspension to date. Three consecutive years in a row. His first suspension fronted his 2013 season (missing two games) and Gordon was still able to lead the NFL in receiving.
Farmer goes on to say, “It is evident that Josh needs to make some substantial strides to live up to the positive culture we are trying to build this football team upon. Our hope is that this suspension affords Josh the opportunity to gain some clarity in determining what he wants to accomplish moving forward and if he wants a career in the National Football League.”
Gordon’s suspension will last for at least one year. Because he has not accrued the time needed for free agency (possibly from the multiple suspensions), he will need to stay under the Cleveland Browns well into the 2017 season.
